Dear Applicant,

The Melissa Villalpando Memorial Scholarship Fund (MVMSF) was founded in 2009 by the family of Melissa Villalpando. Melissa unexpectedly passed away due to a pulmonary heart condition at the young age of 39. Melissa was especially dedicated to the success of catholic schools and served as a team member for ACTS retreats in San Antonio. Her dedication to catholic schools and her passion for volunteering is why we have chosen to continue this scholarship in her memory. MVMSF awards one deserving catholic high school junior an academic scholarship they can apply to their senior year tuition. Applicants must have a B average or higher and be an active member of their community, church, and school. Since 2009, MVMSF has taken great strides to expand the scholarship fund. We have had the honor of awarding 11 students with the title of MVMScholar and we are blessed to continue in this family tradition.

To apply for the $300.00 scholarship, open to ALL St. Gerard Catholic High School juniors, please fill out the attached application.

The Melissa Villalpando Memorial Scholarship Fund would like to wish everyone good luck with the application process and thank you for supporting our cause.

Sincerely,

Kimberly DeLaFuente
